The Christmas story is filled with fearful people. Mary, the shepherds, Herod, especially – and probably even Joseph – were all terribly afraid, and all dealt with their fears in different ways. What fresh inspiration does the Christmas story offer us, as we live in fearful, hopeful times? This morning we will also sing lots of Christmas carols, and celebrate being together, this crazy, beautiful, complex season.
